crime rates USA vs. Canada

• Just finished watching bowling for columbine. You guys in canada have it sweet. definitely less crime there than here. I live Denver and I am seriously thinking of moving to Vancouver. Same mountain system + the sea, no bush and an ok job market.

• taxes are definitely higher in Canada

  Especially in British Columbia. If you can happily live kissing goodbye 40-50 percent of your yearly salary in taxes, then come here. you will love it

  I can live with high taxes. the worst thing canada has is its weather. It is cold, cold, cold and then you have july and august.

• depending on where you live, the crime rates in Canada are high

  I live in Scarborough, Ontario. A satellite city of Toronto. I must say that everytime that somebody dies by a gunshot in the greater toronto area, there is a 80% chance that it happened here.
  
  Still, this is of course better than Cleveland, Oakland or Detroit
