can i change visa status from resident to work permit

• i came to saudiarabia on a resident permit sponsored by my spouse. is it true that i cannnot work on my resident permit . hoew can i change my status to work permit. if i get a job can my employer sponsor me for a change from resident to work permit.
  any help will be gratly appreciated

  I think your spouse can transfer your sponsorship to any company and then it is legal to work
