regarding IGS visa refusal and appeal
-
Hello everyone,
I applied for an appeal on my SEGS refusal. Please provide me information if you think that my appeal will be approved or not.I started my MSC in August 2005 and got my result on 8th March 2007.I came back to Pakistan on 23rd March though my visa expired on 31st June 2007.
I started job here in Pakistan for a year and I applied for SEGS entry learance on 25th March 2008.I got refusal as the entry clearnace officer thinks that I am late by 17 days as One has to apply witinh a year of data of completion of studies.
I did know that I have to apply for segs with in a year of my visa expiry as advised by the ukvisas email that I got earlier in August 2007.I have appealed on this basis and my case will be heared on 1st October 2008.
Please tell me if my appeal will be approved or not and is it the date that of visa expiry or date of completion of studies. The proof that I have given in my appeal is the print out of email corredspondence did earlier with UK visas and print out of a chapter which is a guidance for entry clearnace on SEGS/IGS ON THE UKVISAS WEBSITE.
Email reply that I got on 17th August 2007 from the email address [email removed] is:
"The International Graduate Scheme (IGS) allows non-EEA nationals who have graduated from UK higher or further
education establishments in certain physical sciences, mathematics and engineering subjects with a lower second class or
higher degree to remain in the UK for 12 months after their studies in order to pursue a career.
Science and Engineering graduates who have left the UK after graduation who want to return to the UK under this
scheme must do so within 12 months of the date of completion of their studies. This is taken as being the date that their
leave to enter/remain in the UK as a student (their 'student visa') expired."
Print out of a chapter which is a guidance for entry clearnace on SEGS/IGS ON THE UKVISAS WEBSITE:
Please look at under the heading "Date of completion of studies"
http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/ecg/chapter18/internationalgraduates/.
What do you think will I succeed in my appeal or not.Thanks.
