Residency Permit for 6 months...can I work in Spain??

• Hello... My husband and I are coming to Spain for 6 months. He is an EU member but I am not. He has a work contract for 6 months and we applied for a residency at the Spanish Embassy in my home country. We received a 3 month valid stamp in my passport stating "family regrouping". Once in Spain I would then get another stamp which would be my residency. For how long...we do not know!
  
  My question is...Does this residency allow me to also work in Spain once I am there? Or is it a residency which simply allows me to accompany my husband for the duration of his contract?
