Is there no organised crime in Bulgaria?
Well, the simple answer is no! But organised crime is not really that interested in hitting on the tourists as they bring in the cash (much easier to squeeze the people taking the money). Petty crime is present (where isn't it) so you need to be careful with your belongings and use common sense about where you go and what you do. However, this is now an EU country with rising standards and not the wild west. Most holidaymakers will not have or even see a single problem in this area - you just need to look at the way the tourist industry is exploding.Jim 29 Mar 2007, 05:07 - Report
